forever 21

So I've been totally turned on to Forever 21. I love their clothes, accessories, shoes, everything. AND it's all so cheap. I just ordered these shoes and am so excited to try them on. Do you think I can pull it off??

happy birthday lisa

Happy birthday Lisa! I hope you had a killer birthday yesterday and that you were pampered all day. Thanks for being my friend and always keeping in touch. You deserve the best. Love your guts.

Is it bad to feed an obsession? I have posted before of Mason's love for Little Einsteins. Well, grandma Anderson joined the movement and got this for Mason. He LOVES it. He sleeps with it, carries it around all day and will not let it out of his sight. When he's older and is reminiscent of his favorite childhood toys, I'm sure this will be on the top of his list. :)

Boog,
This one is for you.

ferdinand

We bought this book for Mason the other day. Love this story! It got me thinking about the Disney cartoon and voila! found it. :) Of course, I already posted which is my favorite Disney cartoon. This is definitely in the top 5.

dear twilighters

I know there are others like me out there...those who love the Twilight series as much as I do. Those who experienced what it means to stop showering and eating for a week just to finish the books. Good news is we are all going to be entering rehab again because the release date for the fourth and final book, Breaking Dawn, has been announced. But wait, there's more! The cast members have been chosen for the Twilight movie. Can I get an Amen?!

cars

I have many loves in my life but I think some will be surprised that I love cars. I think going to a car show would be a blast.
This Aston Martin would be sweet to drive along a coastal road. All my fellow San Fran science trippers may think of the drive we took on that coastal highway.

This Toyota FJ Cruiser would be sweet to go digging in or perfect for a ski trip.

This Volvo XC90 would be my ideal family car. It seats seven (though I know we won't need that much room) and would look killer in black. :)

very becoming

If you haven't seen this movie, you are definitely missing out. Dan got this for me for v-day (thank you, thank you). Of course, James McAvoy is so good. You will be wanting and wishing his blue eyes would lock with yours.

my valentine

I know I drive Dan b-a-n-a-n-a-s. The fact that he puts up with me should be more than enough to love him but there is more about him to love. For one, he is such a good dad. He loves to snuggle, play and laugh with the kids. He always is the first to point out how cute they are. He can always make me laugh, no matter how bad of a mood I'm in. AND he loves me for me, no matter how bad I look or how pudgy I get. He's the best and am grateful he is my valentine. :)

doctor, doctor, give me the news...

Poor Naomi was hospitalized over the weekend for RSV. We took her in Thursday night and she was released Saturday afternoon. With all this sickness going around, it was inevitable the bug would bite Naomi. She is doing much better and luckily, we didn't have to bring her home on oxygen. Poor kid was put through the ringer though. She hated having a nasal wash and blood drawn. The IV had to be placed in her head since her little chubby arms and legs disguised her little veins. The respiratory therapist suctioned out her nasal cavities a few times, which she also hated. I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her head. The coughing alone was enough to drive anyone crazy! After many prayers, hugs and kisses, she slept and slept and slept.

Dan and Mason came to pick us up Saturday afternoon from the hospital and she was very happy to see him. He hopped on the bed, gave her a kiss and took her toys. She didn't mind though. She continued to smile and stare at him. We are grateful she is home with us now and doing much, much better.

sickness

A sick child and a sick husband has to be the worst combination ever. I'm still recovering from such a long week/weekend of coughing, whining, fevers, sore throats, aches, pains and bears...oh my. Now I'm coming down with the sickness and hoping I can fend it off with a few gallons of water and 3o minutes more of rest or laying down, rather. Well, more like dropping on the couch and ignoring everything and everyone for 30 minutes. How does this happen? Aren't moms built to be immune to the sicknesses that are brought home on a daily basis? I thought the killer anti-bodies kick in and fight off the bad blood. Speaking of blood, wouldn't it be horrible to be bled when you are sick? Kind of weird but I was thinking of how awful it would have been to be sick back in the day. Sssshhhhiiivvveeeeerrr. Where is my echinacea?

If I were a millionaire...

Being a millionaire has it's drawbacks, I'm sure. Of course, I don't know firsthand what they are but I think this would definitely be a perk.

Sigh. Yeah, I could get used to this. I mean, if I truly HAD to. You wouldn't hear me scream uncle.

Happy hair day

Actually today was anything but a happy hair day. Mason's hair is truly a major factor in his cuteness but I was itching to cut it. Actually, trim the sides and top so he doesn't look like a vagabond. It has been a bit of a nuisance. We could squeeze out bottles of gel on his hair and by the end of the day, his hair would be crowned the winner.
So I set out for a couple of before shots of his cute little self.

Then I got to work. I found out Mason loves his hair too. He went bizerk watching his beautiful locks fall to the floor. After a few thousand tears and the most gynormous sucker he has seen, his hair looks like this:

Yes, it is MUCH shorter than I would have liked. A plan B should have been in place because obviously, plan A didn't work. Good thing hair grows back.

Photo fun

Now I know why Pioneer Woman has so much fun altering her photos. For Christmas, Dan and I gave each other a killer digital slr camera. It has been so much fun figuring out how it works and seeing the difference immediately in our shots. Here is a shot of a sunset I took the other night just outside our house.

This is the (sorry to copy Pioneer Woman) SOTC (straight-out-of-the-camera) shot. Now here is the shot after messing with it just a bit:

Pretty cool, eh? (Not to sound like my Canadian hubby or anything). I still have loads to learn and lots more tools to experiment with but I can definitely see why it is addicting!

Rock out

If I was ever to be a guitarist, I would totally want to rock out like the guitarist in this video. The one I'm talking about is playing the acoustic, wearing the fisherman's hat. Besides being a cool song, he totally makes the video...don't you think? Can't you see me totally rocking out? I can tell you now I would have a blast. :)

Guilty Pleasure Monday

Guilty pleasure, anyone? Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a gulity pleasure. I've had a few but today I'm going to fess up to one. Sorry. Just one. I guess I should explain a little first...give a little insight. I have always wanted to be a dancer. I took ballet FOREVER. I then did a lot of jazz dancing/hip-hop, etc, etc. Love it. Love it. Love it. Obviously I didn't pursue a career in dancing but have always wished I had. How hard would it have been to swallow my fear of greatness and gone for it?! Anywho. I do have a point. So Chris Brown is my guilty pleasure. I know what you are thinking. I actually didn't really pay much attention to him until I saw his performance at the VMA's. I was blown away by his dancing. His music and singing are okay. I just love watching him dance. He's crazy. So, for your gulity pleasurely viewing (not sure pleasurely is a word...or should be), I will post his VMA performance here. I will also post a link to another site where you can watch him sing and dance to a couple other songs: http://soundcheck.walmart.com/chrisbrown.html
I guess he was a street dancer before he got his big break. Sick, sick, sick.
